This is a very sad day – waaay sadder than the day Michael Jackson died …Les Paul was really actually amazing – not just a pop phenom (Michael Jackson was amazing too… but – i’m just sayin)… to me Les Paul is one of the most important Electronic Musicians (i consider him to be an early electronic music pioneer even though most ppl wouldn’t say so) AND one of the greatest Jazz Guitarists. The man invented the solid body guitar from a railroad tie and also invented Multitrack Recording. In my head i have always grouped him with musicians like Leo Thermin and Bob Moog. He used guitar effects and recording tricks before anyone even knew it was possible. The man was truly on the progressive side of technology and at the same time a down to earth person. I’ve been playing a Les Paul Guitar ever since i was 13 and i have always been fascinated by the man’s inventions. We take them for granted now – The man was a genius and a real inspiration to me and part of the reason i think i started getting into hacking stuff and ripping things apart to see how they work! He is sort of a jazz Guitarist turned hacker! Les Paul was amazing! Part of the Reason i built my Gameboy Foot Controller was by thinking “What would Les Paul do?”
